The Show Must Go On...

Hello, Whilst the stress of finishing the dissertation surrounds me, a crack of light was seen because of a meeting about the show. It kicks off on the 10th for two weeks, which is plenty of time to sell our wares. I really wanted the show to be in Bristol, but I don't think anyone else apart from James and Lou are bothered about that.

During the meeting roles were decided, but no one was placed as overall show manager, so everyone had someone to go to. This may have offered a little more cohesion when it comes to the designs and styles. I haven't been set a distinct task yet, but I am willing to do anything, starting with moving all the furniture of the lab. As time manager, Liz is responsible for organizing peoples individual show times, and ensuring their is someone presesnt at all times to answer an questions the public may have.

Lou and myself hope to invite the people who have helped us out over the course of the project, as well as good old friends and family.

CV me?

This is the second time I've written this entry because blogger is shite!!

Not only was the importance of a good CV and portfolio discussed today, but also the major factor of luck!

By chatting to people and not being shy, you are more likely to find work and oppourtuites. A hub of influence is someone that everyone seems to know. This is the person to talk to or become. Thoughout the project I have tried to contact as many locative media designers as possible, as this is the best way to know what is happening in the industry. This has paid off no end, as Lou and myself have worked in some way with; HP, Mobile Bristol, Node, BBC Wales, Habour Authority and c3imaging.

Completing a positional staement was aslo sighted as an appropriate way of informing someone who you are. Questions that should be answered as: What you've done? Where you are now? What the work would mean to you? Statements like "I am someone who can....." are also a good way of getting yourself accross.

Anyway, sorry if this entry is short but things are never as good the second time around!

Here is a copy of my current CV that needs a major rework!
